Omey Dash 2016 is a Triathlon limited to 200 entrants so sign up as soon as possible. Open to all individuals or teams in any combination.

Minimum age 16 years – (with parental consent for anyone under 18)

Race sign on & registration at Claddaghduff Community Hall on Friday, August 5th from 19:00 to 21:00 and on Saturday, August 6th from 08:30 to 10:45.

Competitor Race Briefing at 11:45 on Omey Strand

Race will start at 12:00 sharp
All competitors are required to wear their own cycle helmets and wet suits.
Prize giving will take place in Sweeney’s Strand Bar, Claddaghduff at 17:00
Parking Facilities are available free of charge at Claddaghduff Parish Church, Claddaghduff Community Hall and on Omey Strand.
Description of Bike Course  Starting  Omey Beach.  Proceed on Roadway to main Claddaghduff Road and turn right towards Clifden.  Travel on to Streamstown Crossroads (Garda on Duty).  Take left turn onto N59 (Clifden to Westport Road) Travel forward  and stay to left at Cleggan Cross – exit N59 and descend into Cleggan Village.  Travel straight through for to Aughrismore Crossroads.  Straight past Claddaghduff Community Hall.  Onwards to Claddaghduff Church where you turn right and go back to the transition area where cycle started  –  Omey Beach.

Description of Run Course  From Bike racks on Omey Beach – competitors will follow the signed area across Omey Strand and onto the tarmac road on the Island. They will follow the road all the way to the end where there will be a turning point marked.  They will around the turning point and run back the way they came.  They will follow signs back across the strand to a clearly marked Finish line.
